METCAD 9-1-1 is currently hiring for Entry Level & Experienced Telecommunicator I roles.
The position of Telecommunicator requires the special ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while providing a calm and caring response to calls for assistance. In 2023, METCAD answered 284,741 calls including 108,929 emergency and 175,812 non-emergency calls and dispatched 134,486 of those calls to 31 police and/or fire departments in Champaign County.
Requirements for Experienced Telecommunicator I Role:
2+ years experience (full-time, continuous basis in multi-jurisdictional center, within last 5 years)
Completed training program in most recent center
Completed probationary period in most recent center
Earn $6,000 in hiring incentives!
Starting Salary At $27.50 Per Hour

• Starting Salary: $27.50 per hour ($57,200 annually)
• 11 paid Holidays
• Personal leave: 24 hours
• Vacation and Sick leave accrual at 3.69 hours per pay period.
